We want everyone to be able to use our website with ease. The following information explains:
our approach to accessibility;
the features we have built in to support all users;
how to adjust your device to make it work for you; and
how to contact us with questions or feedback.
We are committed to making our website accessible to all users, in accordance with our obligations under the Equality Act 2010. We aim to meet Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), which represent current best practice for website accessibility. These standards help make websites usable for as many people as possible.
We recognise that accessibility is an ongoing commitment. Whilst we endeavour to meet Level AA of WCAG 2.2 across our website, there may be areas that do not yet fully meet this standard. We are continuously working to improve the accessibility of our website and will address any issues identified as part of our ongoing development programme.
Keyboard access
We include “skip to main content” links so you can move straight to the main page content without navigating through menus.
Text size
You can increase or decrease text size using your browser’s settings (for example, View → Text Size). Our website also supports third-party screen magnification software.
Alternative text for images
All images include appropriate alternative text so that screen readers can describe them to users.
Clear headings
We use proper HTML heading tags to structure each page. This helps assistive technologies navigate the content quickly.
Meaningful links
Where possible, our link text is written to make sense out of context and is visually distinct from surrounding content so that users navigating by screen reader or keyboard can understand the purpose of each link without needing to read the surrounding text. Where possible, we aim to ensure links are descriptive and provide meaningful context to users, though in some cases shorter labels (such as “learn more”) are used alongside supporting content that provides additional context.
Works without JavaScript
Where JavaScript is used, we provide alternative ways to access key features in case your browser does not support scripts.
Colour contrast
Text and background colours have been chosen to ensure strong contrast. We do not rely on colour alone to convey information.
Style sheets
We use Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to present content clearly. If CSS is unavailable, all information remains accessible and readable.
There are resources available that explain all the accessibility features available on popular devices. Please see:
